Plant in Senegal
WHY PLANT TREES IN SENEGAL?
ACELERATED DEFORESTATION
For decades, intensive peanut monoculture degraded large areas of land in Senegal. This practice reduced forest cover and impoverished the soil, accelerating deforestation in rural agricultural areas.
LOSS OF BIODIVERSITY
The removal of native vegetation to make way for monocultures severely affected local biodiversity. Natural habitats were destroyed, leading to the disappearance of numerous species of flora and fauna native to the region.
VULNERABILITY TO CLIMATE CHANGE
Environmental degradation, soil erosion, and low agricultural diversity made communities more vulnerable to droughts and other effects of climate change. The Senegal project strengthens resilience by restoring ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices.

WHY IS YOUR SUPPORT IMPORTANT?
BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION
Your support helps restore ecosystems degraded by decades of monoculture in Senegal. By planting more than 10 native species, essential habitats for local wildlife are recovered, and the rapid loss of biodiversity in the region is halted.
CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION
The agroforestry systems we promote effectively capture carbon. Each tree planted absorbs CO₂, helping to slow global warming and reduce the extreme climate effects on vulnerable communities.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR COMMUNITIES
Your contribution supports the food and economic security of over 6,000 families. Agroforestry plots are up to 30% more productive than monocultures and promote female leadership, with 50% of key positions held by women.
