Tree planting in Costa Rica
Needless to say, how important is it to plant trees? in our environment, as we have said before, plants not only produce oxygen, but they help us in many ways for our benefit, generating shade, bioclimatic regulation in absorbing water and expelling it in vapour, acting as a filter for air consumption and at the same time humidity providing us with a cooler environment, are some of the advantages that trees give us;
In Costa Rica, agricultural production is one of the aspirations to be a sustainable model as in other countries, harvesting coffee, bananas, pineapple, cocoa, sugar cane are some of the products under development;
But in this case we will focus on the sowing or planting of trees.s. In 2020 a project called “Footprint of the Future” was implemented in order to rehabilitate landscapes, and generate green jobs for critical moments in the local economy, it is an environmental responsibility;
In the same vein, Vice President Campbell Barr explained that the aim is to plant and maintain for five years 65,000 fruit and flowering trees on public roads, 120,000 timber trees in agroforestry systems, 15,000 species in secondary forests and plant 200,000 trees in the northern part of the country, in order to achieve the project;
Our country has been rated as a low-risk country, as Costa Rica’s constitution guarantees private property, human rights and equal treatment for all people, including foreigners.
In addition, more than 25% of the country is protected by national parks or private reserves, because natural riches such as trees and rivers are of great importance, as well as freedom from civil unrest and freedom from the army.
